A New Approach to North West Leadership

Who will positively change the North West? Who are the leaders of the future? Could it be you?

Future Leaders 2022-2023, at Áras an Uachtaráin

For the past number of years Holywell Trust has delivered the Future Leaders programme. We took a pause last year to review and reset the programme and have developed a new initiative - Leadership Collective.

We’re excited that the Leadership Collective will engage leaders from the broader North West from all sectors and backgrounds. We want to create a new collective of people who will work together to positively change this place into the future.

Changing our community will take the collective efforts of people from the community and voluntary sector and beyond. For too long ‘community’ has been understood to be the organisations and volunteers working to support others. We use a broader sense of ‘community’ to encompass anyone who feels that they can positively impact on the lives of others.

We are fully aware of the long-term challenges that face us in the North West - unemployment and deprivation to peripherality and educational underachievement are among the issues that need addressed. We believe that a committed cohort of people, willing to work together, to take risks and to try something different could, in the longer term, make a positive difference.

To help bring about this positive transformation we will equip the Leadership Collective participants with knowledge and information, offer mentoring and support and encourage collaboration as the driving force behind change.

Does this sound like something that you would like to get involved with? Would you like to be part of this transformational programme? If so, more details are included on the course page on our website where you can also apply to take part.

We’re actively recruiting participants for the course and the deadline for application has just been extended until 14th December 2024. If you are interested and think that you can make a positive difference to the North West we’d love to hear from you.

This new programme is part of the Investing in Community Leadership in the West programme that we deliver with our partners Fermanagh Trust and Rural Community Network.
